How I feel about religion. God should be presented as what he is, love and kindness. Stop using his name to justify your racism, homophobia and sexism
I’m not religious, but this comic is flipping adorable.
I agree with previous comment
This was the welcome note in my church’s booklet for today’s service. I just thought some of you would like to know that the true message of Christianity is one of love and acceptance.
MAN, YOUR CHURCH SOUNDS BOSS.
Religion, you’re doing it right
This just made this atheist smile.
This should be printed in every bible, first and last page, to remind certain christians to step back from the trees and see the forest.
more catholic than the Pope. dying
As a new pope is being chosen, smoke billows from the Sistine Chapel in indicate whether the Roman Catholic cardinals have made a decision.
Here’s a handy guide to what each color means.
I just thought of something. If Jesus was born today…in Bethlehem, how accepting would Americans be of him? A 32-year-old man from Palestine who speaks Hebrew and tells you to give all your money to the poor?
There is a famous story told in Chassidic literature that addresses this very question. The Master teaches the student that God created everything in the world to be appreciated, since everything is here to teach us a lesson.
One clever student asks “What lesson can we learn from atheists? Why did God create them?”
The Master responds “God created atheists to teach us the most important lesson of them all — the lesson of true compassion. You see, when an atheist performs and act of charity, visits someone who is sick, helps someone in need, and cares for the world, he is not doing so because of some religious teaching. He does not believe that god commanded him to perform this act. In fact, he does not believe in God at all, so his acts are based on an inner sense of morality. And look at the kindness he can bestow upon others simply because he feels it to be right.”
“This means,” the Master continued “that when someone reaches out to you for help, you should never say ‘I pray that God will help you.’ Instead for the moment, you should become an atheist, imagine that there is no God who can help, and say ‘I will help you.’”

I started reading this and was worried it would be something attacking atheists, or bashing religion, but this makes me really, really happy.
So today was the first time in a long time that I felt my mom didn’t accept me for who I am.
It was quick, off-comment, but it still struck me.
The conversation pretty much went like this:
Mom: “Well, at least you aren’t an Atheist.”
Me: “…..What if I was?”
Mom: “You’re not an Atheist.”
Mom: “You believe in spirits and stuff, right?”
Me: “Well, I—”
Mom: “Then you’re not an Atheist.”
And then she changed the subject, which is what she does to avoid conflict. Like, it was just really startling. She gets a little odd when I talk about pride parades or stuff like that, but she’s always been okay with me crossplaying and dying my hair odd colours, which are things that I see other people sometimes have trouble with.
…then again, she went to catholic school so.
this is the greatest thing I have ever read.
you could cut the accuracy with a knife
A graphical representation of the contradictions in the bible. Each red line links 2 contradicting statements.
WILL ALWAYS REBLOG.
Getting my outrage out through design.

Nor is it a religious one either.
This is also a gorgeous design.
